Welcome to Propongo! I am a grant writing specialist with over a decade of experience in securing funding for research projects and teaching others how to do it. I started working on this skill during my postdoctoral tenure when I realized I needed help to learn how to find funding opportunities for foreigners like me working at US universities and learn how to write research grants that actually got funded.  After many years of practice assembling and managing investigator teams, and delivering successful multi-million dollar center grant proposals from esteemed government agencies, foundations, and industry partners, I want to show you how to do it so that you can also find funding opportunities and write winning grants that will support your scientific innovations.  

My area of expertise lies in crafting comprehensive grant proposals, particularly for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), but my strategies and techniques for winning competitive grants apply to any field. Throughout my career, I have collaborated closely with scientific and administrative teams to develop compelling grant proposals. From meticulously formulating budgets to defining aims and identifying key personnel, I want to show you how I ensure that every aspect of the proposal is thoughtfully addressed.  I have developed a practical teaching approach that leverages my diverse skill set that extends to launching successful startup companies and developing impactful business plans. 

Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of teaching grant writing courses, where my focus has been on empowering aspiring researchers and professionals. I have developed programs dedicated to training postdoctoral research associates, research scientists and faculty in the art of crafting award-winning grant proposals. My fluency in Spanish allows me to effectively communicate and collaborate with Spanish-speaking colleagues and students, fostering inclusive and productive partnerships. Since 2016, I have been leading grant writing courses in Latin America.
